As there appears to be no UK Charity in the specific area of promoting Openness, Transparency, and Freedom on the Internet, Appleseed aims to fill this gap.
There are a number of stages in the process of setting up a UK charity, and at present Appleseed is at a very early stage, but assistance in the process is welcome.
Trustees
Ideally the trustees should have a mixture of people with technical understanding of Open Source and Systems, people with experience or interest in data openness, experience of charity governance, and people with experience in the charity sector.
Suggestions for good people to approach as possible trustees, wording for charitable aims etc should be sent to charity@appleseed.org.uk
